Organisation

The highest level of the German Water Partnership is the general meeting. It is held regularly, approves the actions of the board and legitimates the association's work. The board consists of 15 people. It elects the executive board, which is composed of one chairman and three representatives. The GWP board nominates the executive director and herewith controls operations. It also organises study groups which are headed by board members wherever possible.

The heads or representatives of the ministries, associations and Länder initiatives whose work is relevant to the society's aims are members of the advisory council. The advisory council is elected by the board and acts in an advisory capacity.

The association organises an annual conference to coincide with its general meeting. This conference is basically open to all German providers of water management.

The steering committee is responsible for implementing the decisions made at the annual conference, in cooperation with the board.

The practical work takes place on so-called task forces. The members of the association set up task forces according to their areas of work.
